Did you know that you can apply to have your organization considered by potential donors made up of U. S. Government employees in the Combined Federal Campaign? If you are a national organization you can apply for national recognition and if you are a regional organization you may be eligible for regional status.
What are the advantages of announcing to the U. S. government employees about your group? It may mean thousands of dollars available that you did not have without being a part of their annual giving campaign.
Qualifications
Your organization must have 501 (c) (3) nonprofit status.
For national and international organizations you must submit your application before January 16 of the current year before you are announced.
Regional or local nonprofits have until March or April to turn in their application. Local organizations must show that they have a substantial local presence in the geographic area covered by the CFC campaign in their area.
Get your organization included as a local organization, National or International Unaffiliated Organization with the U.S. government employees Combined Federal Campaign. The Office of Personnel Management website provides you with access to downloadable CFC forms and instructions for applying.
Once Qualified
Your application form has at least a dozen pages of qualifications. Any unfulfilled answer can prevent your group from being qualified.
If approved, your organization will be placed on a registry with other approved nonprofits for the consideration of the many hundreds of thousands of federal employees.
Your success in attracting potential donors will be in how well you present your case and in promoting your group to local federal employee groups.

Check the U.S. Government section of the Yellow Pages for a listing. Contact the head of each local government entity that you can discover alert them to your organization being listed.
Get points of contact, addresses and telephone numbers here at this list of Local CFC Offices. This works even if you are a national or international nonprofit located in a specific locality.
