Christmas Gift
Wrapping Service
Christmas Gift Wrapping can be a fun and easy way to raise funds for your group. Your main decision will be to provide at least 3 people that can be in your booth at any given point?
Volunteers
You must have plenty of volunteers for this fundraiser. It must also be in a highly trafficked area to truly benefit from the time and energy that is required to buy the supplies needed and set up your booth.
If you are a ladies auxiliary, Christian women's missionary union, hospital auxiliary, Key Club, sorority, Junior League, or similar organization; then this will work to your advantage.
Time Involvement
Make sure that you schedule three people for every two hour shift that you are open for business during any given day.
Check on the availability of starting the day after Thanksgiving as the Christmas holiday shoppers begin their shopping experience. Make sure that your organizations members agree to conduct this fundraiser for the entire 30 days until Christmas.
Market Your Service
The key to large amounts of traffic will be to set up shop in a mall or strip mall area. You should then approach the stores there and in the surrounding area and ask for their business. Your first approach to a store manager should be in September or early October as they are planning for upcoming holiday sales.
At the very least, ask the store managers if they would send their customers to your booth if they do not have their own gift wrapping service. Create a sample flyer to show the store manager and offer to provide a stack of flyers for their customers to pick up at the sales counter. Ask the manager to post your flyer at the cash registers or on entry to their store.
Get The Wraps
Finally, search out for wholesale gift wrap suppliers and choose a couple of dozen papers and the appropriate ribbonry that will complement the various designs. Ask your local party supply store for the names of their vendors or search the internet for wholesale suppliers.
Get colorful children's paper, single colors, gold or bronze or silver wraps, and also elegant type papers for use. Don't forget to get name tags and even small cards so that the buyer can personalize their gift.
It is also advised that you have various sized boxes for sale or use. Check with local furniture and electronic stores and ask them to save various boxes that they receive merchandise in.
Selling Extras
Don't stop with just wrapping someone's present. It will be more than likely that your gift wrap customer will also be needing a greeting card. Have some greeting cards available for sale at your booth.
Also, you may buy traditional Christmas theme sets of cards and gifts. See more at this Christmas Cards page.
That's really most of the decisions to be made. Once you set up your timetable and volunteers, you should have a successful fundraiser that will rake in thousands of dollars. It may become your main fundraiser for the entire year.
