Old Vehicles Donated To Charity
There are a number of ways that your organization can benefit from accepting used vehicles from supporters. Many small ministries and missionaries have relied on vehicle donations from churches and larger ministries for many years.
If you are an individual missionary, single person who runs a small nonprofit group it is suggested that you write a simple one or two page proposal stating that you need a vehicle to continue your mission.
State the many ways in which you will use the vehicle:
1. Need a truck to haul equipment or other smaller donations.
2. Need a van to carry around your clients to appointments at community services.
3. Need a van to pick up groceries and office supplies for daily operations.
4. Need a car to drive to appointments while promoting your nonprofit emphasis to community leaders or key donors and supporters.
5. Will accept any vehicle and at the discretion of the board or Executive Director, they may be sold for cash.
If selling a vehicle, be sure to establish a relationship with a local car dealer who can sell your car for you. Ask if the dealer will sell for no commissions as a way to support your charitable cause.
