Door Prizes and Donations
Securing A Donation From A Business
The best way to secure a donated gift is to first send a letter to the key decision maker by a prominent member in your community stating that someone will call them. Then have a member of your group call about a week after the letter is sent, introduce themselves, mention the fundraising project and then ask what items they could possibly donate if any.
Also create a one page information sheet that you send along with the letter explaining the fundraiser and what it's for. Mention to them that you will post their name on the donation for all to see at the events.
Afterwards, send them a thank you letter with a forms that shows your official address, logo, etc and signed by your President or CEO stating exactly what they gave you as a donation. Never put a price value on the item in your thank you letter receipt as that is not allowed by law... just describe the model, make, color, size and other features. That's pretty much it.
Business Donate Items For Ad Exchange
Ask businesses to donate items as door prizes or to raffle off at your next event.
Recognize these businesses for their contribution by handing each attendee or raffle buyer a "coupon" flyer Showing the Business Donor's name, addresses, and phone numbers.
